Dragon Brand International Success
South Caernarfon Creameries’ Dragon brand enjoyed a fantastic response to it’s international debut at Gulfood in Dubai; the world’s largest annual foodservice, hospitality and retail event. A team from the Chwilog Creamery recently travelled to the show to promote the Dragon brand and in particular their Welsh Dragon cheddar received a fantastic response from both international retail food buyers and food distributors.
“Dragon brand has become extremely well-established in Wales but there is a growing international demand for both dairy products and British foods. Gulfood provided the ideal platform for an overseas launch. The team met with many international buyers in particular from the Middle East, Asia and Africa and the Dragon brand was exceptionally well received. The star of the show was the Vintage Cheddar with people enjoying the mature flavour, supreme quality and creamy texture. It offered a distinct alternative to the predominantly milder cheeses currently available in places such as Asia and the Middle East” explains Alan Wyn-Jones, Managing Director at South Caernarfon Creameries.
“It is still very early days but we are confident that as we obtained such significant interest from a number of key contacts we hope to export the Dragon brand to key overseas markets in the near future.”
South Caernarfon Creameries was amongst 4,200 exhibitors and 20,000 brands who took part in the five day show.
