British Food Fortnight
British Food Fortnight is held each autumn to champion and celebrate British food and drink.
We think it’s an important celebration and highlights the importance of buying British which offers a wealth of high quality foods produced right on your doorstep.
So why do we think you should buy British dairy?
- Our farmers adhere to amongst the highest welfare standards in the world
- Choosing British (or indeed Welsh) dairy products means that you are directly supporting British farmers which in turn has a positive impact on the British countryside
- You are directly supporting the economy – from the farmer to businesses who are involved with food processing, right through to the shops selling the food.
- Locally produced food travels far less, so it has an obvious benefit to the environment with a much lower carbon footprint.
Our family owned farm co-operative members are from North Wales and Mid Wales. Their dairy farms supply us with exceptional quality milk thanks to their cows that graze on the lush Welsh pastures.
For us, provenance is a fundamental part of our business; we’re proud of our Welsh roots, have a policy to only process Welsh milk and have our very own successful brand of cheese and butter called Dragon Our dairy range encompasses traditional Cheddars, from mild to vintage as well as taking inspiration from our Welsh roots with a mature cheddar with leek. Then there is Caerphilly, traditional territorials and salted Welsh butter – something for everyone!
We think it’s important to buy British dairy all year round, and British Food Fortnight is an important celebration –
