Hope House

Heulwen Piggot and son Daniel visited SCC on 1st April following their successful bid on a tour of the Creamery at a Hope House auction.

South Caernarfon Creameries donated a ‘site tour voucher’ and a hamper of Dragon products for the auction organised by Hope House in November 2015. Hope House provides a valuable service to all communities: specialist nursing care, counselling, understanding, compassion and empathy, and have dedicated support teams who work at Hope House and in the home. South Caernarfon Creamaries was pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause. The Piggot family won the race at auction which raised an overall total of £31,663.25 on the night.

Katrina Lawson, Area Fundraiser commented “we collected an amazing amount and it will be of massive help for the team to support children who are not expected to live longer than early adulthood, as well as their parents and family. We wish to thank everyone who supported the event”

Both visitors enjoyed the tour very much, learning about the history of the business, the cheesemaking process and the new investment. Mrs Piggot was born and raised on a small dairy farm in Llanddaniel on Anglesey and was always interested to see how milk was processed in a factory. The old separator we have in the meeting room brought back fond memories of her as a child turning the heavy handle for a long time to separate the cream from the skim.
