Local School Initiative
South Caernarfon Creameries was pleased to recently support Martin Griffiths, member farmer when he invited a local primary school to his farm. Having found out that the school syllabus was focussing on food production, Martin, who farms at Ffosygrafel Farm, Aberystwyth invited local primary school Ysgol Rhydypennau to his farm.
As part of the visit, the children had the chance to see cows being milked and how the milk is used and in turn made into cheese. South Caernarfon Creameries was pleased to supply a selection of cheese from their Welsh Dragon cheese range for the children to taste.
“Wherever possible, we try to help member farmers with such initiatives, particularly when it involves the education of local children. It’s important that children are made aware of where their food comes from, and to dispel misunderstanding that it magically arrives at a shop! We were delighted to provide some of our award-winning Dragon cheese so that the children could sample the end result – after all, they are future customers!”
