Aber Breeders Club Sponsorship
South Caernarfon Creameries was pleased to sponsor the Aberystwyth Breeders Club Virtual Dairy Show held this summer. The Club visited the Creamery in May 1993 and impressed with the quality of the produce, leadership and importance of its producers and community to the Company many from the group joined the Society at the time and most remain valued members today. After a break the club reformed in 2018 and has since been a platform for members to socialise informally with like minded people.
As with all other events Covid-19 has put a stop to their activities, but to keep the momentum going the Breeder Club decided to hold a Virtual Dairy Show and this went ahead with the support of sponsorship from SCC and Worldwide Sires. Club member, Mr Keith Ratledge coordinated the event and Mr Richard Hughes took the lead as judge. Ms Rosalind Williams also sponsored the event by donation of an engraved Dennis Morgan Memorial Challenge Cup. Eight club members participated with a total of 57 entries between seven categories. The judge commented, "it was a pleasure to judge the competition, standard was superb, a credit to all who entered. The concept is first class… I think it could become an exciting annual event".
The Jenkins Family, Cerrigcaranau organic dairy farm sweeped the board with Elery Shottle Caryl 5 honoured with the overall Champion award and Sahara Shotglass Isa taking second place as the Reserve Champion.
