Rhisiart Retires After Loyal Service

The Annual General Meeting saw Rhisiart Lewis, Coed Cae Gwyn, Llangybi officially retire as a Farmer Board Director for South Caernarfon Creameries after almost 44 years’ service. Better known as ‘Dic Coecia’, he has been a Board member since 1974 and was Chairman from 1992-2010 and has since remained a very active Board member.

At the AGM, on behalf of the Society Moss Jones, President thanked him for his long service and contribution. He said “it was a difficult time when Dic was elected Chairman, but his wealth of experience, contacts and knowledge of the dairy industry; his enthusiasm and commitment steered the Society
forward to be an on-going successful co-operative. He is highly regarded and respected by farmers in the area, and the extended community.”

The President commended his tireless work for the dairy industry noting that it was duly awarded when he received an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his services to the Welsh Dairy Sector.

Bernard Harris, Chairman observed “we are obviously so grateful to Rhisiart for his hard work and continued passion over the decades. We are indebted to the phenomenal amount of time and effort he has invested in South Caernarfon Creameries. He’s been an important member of the Board in a period where the Creamery enjoyed significant change and investment. We wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.”
